Is it ok to use aqueous cream after the expiry date?

I started using aqueous cream on my legs and want to use it on my face to get cleaner smoother skin but it went out of date in 2006, so is it still ok to use?? I think it is just moisturiser (sorta) Incase you don't know, also would it help give me cleaner skin? thanks so much !! :)
