My lease agreement states that I cannot leave the property before lease end?

I want to vacate the flat one month before the lease expiry. Is there any clause which overrides this clause that I cannot vacate before lease end otherwise i will have to forfiet my deposit. I was wondering if the law permits in UK that one can serve the notice period and leave. It is not stated in my lease contract...
