Does dried pasta have an expiry date?

Ok this might sound like a dumb question, but if you have opened say a packet of spaghetti or twists, does it actually have an expiry date. I'm just wondering because I couldn't find one on the packet anywhere, not even a few numbers that look similar to maybe 5-10 years time. Even canned foods have an expiry date even though they keep for at least 3-5 years.
