How long does a laser/maestro card last for?

If you look at one of my most recent of questions in my profile (Horror Of Dracula) you will know what I'm talking about. I'm trying to figure out the date on my card. If you know the answer to my main question and the expiry date on my card is 2014, subtract your answer (amount of years a laser card lasts for) from 2014 so that way I can figure out what year I got the card.
