Is this a good thing, relationship wise?

Whenever the subject of children comes up..yes always by me..my boyfriend wants nothing to do with it. I've explained I understand fully how having children is far away in the future..but still. Its talking about why I feel the way I do (The deep down feelings of wanting a childeven though...etc not now). To me its like he doesn't care about what I feel like. Is this normal? A bad sign..what does it mean?
